WordPress iPhone app

It was outsourced, and it shows.

Quick thoughts:

The interface is very awkward, especially for photo posting.

They violate the iPhone UI guidelines and conventions a lot. This makes nearly every screen at least slightly confusing. (My favorite is how you have blue “Done” and “Save” buttons on the text-editing screen with the keyboard up.)

They claim it’s open-source, but the source code isn’t available yet. I’m not sure if the iPhone SDK’s NDA would even allow for that.

Very wrong fonts in a few labels and buttons.

This needs a lot of work. A bad or mediocre iPhone app is worse than no iPhone app. And I wouldn’t suggest outsourcing, since outsource shops are notoriously bad at attention to detail.

The majority of an iPhone app’s code is the interface. It needs to be done right, and it’s not easy.
